In the past week, we embarked on our ultimate playtest, and the results were nothing short of exceptional. In this devlog, we delve into the final stages of development for Under Choices, leading up to the game beta release. We discuss how we refined the game mechanics, implemented sound design, and prepared for the beta release.

Aiming True

Our journey in developing Under Choices has been guided by a singular focus: to create a game that effectively communicates the concept of doomscrolling and its impact on our lives in the digital age. This focus has been the cornerstone of our project, shaping our design decisions and driving our development process.

Our recent playtest was a testament to our efforts. It was incredibly rewarding to see an increasing number of players recognizing doomscrolling as the central theme of our game. This recognition was not only a validation of our design choices but also an affirmation of the changes we implemented based on feedback from previous playtests. These changes led to a significant reduction in game issues, bolstering our confidence in releasing the first open build.


The Final Round

With the successful completion of our last playtest, we are thrilled to announce that Under Choices has now entered the Beta stage. This milestone marks the beginning of the final phase of our project, where we will be adding the finishing touches to our game.
